About our mission

panquito1MISSION QUITO 2008 is a partnership between Faith Baptist Church, Wichita Falls, Texas, and International Mission Board missionaries Brett and Brenda Cargile to begin a new church in an unreached people group in the southern part of the city of Quito, Ecuador. Faith Baptist sent four teams in 2008, and we are currently planning future trips.

Concerning Day 5 and the picture “Let the children sing” – only a true musician would put a capo on the second fret! This is a statement to your dedication and willingness to give your very best. Even in a small room in a small village in front of a small group, your desire to do things to the best of your ability is clearly evident. Sometimes, the smallest things can say so much. I hope they have enjoyed hearing you play and that the guitar has been a vehicle to help spread the good news. Blessings to all.

I can’t wait to get up each morning and check out the blog. The pictures, the commentary, the testimonies…they keep me going. They remind me of the importance of prayer for Team Alpha and for the people of Quito. It is beyond my comprehension that SOOOOO much can happen in such a short amount of time when God’s people are open to being used by Him.

God is working miracles here as well. Lois Simpson has not given any science homework that Whitney doesn’t understand or that I can’t help her with. 🙂 But, we still miss Alan (Daddy). We know even God can’t hold Mr. Simpson off for long.

Josie, we missed you in children’s choir last night.

Basically, you are ALL missed very much.

It has to be such an honor to work where you can plainly see that our Lord has already gone before you & prepared hearts to receive His word.An honor, yet humbling expierence to be used by Him in such a way. Thank you for the testimonies & the pictures, this enables us to be “on mission” with each of you.
May God continue to bless you & use you for His glory.

What a testimony of God’s power and presence as he goes before you preparing the way. May God bless every step that you take, put a spring in your step that matches the joy in your hearts. Continue to pave the way for Faith’s trips to come. God bless.

My heart goes out to the people at the dump. Have you had a chance to minister to any of them?

You are in our prayers. God will be with you all the way. What a wonderful opportunity that Alex and Eric and everyone else is getting. Our prayers are with all of you and for those at home, be safe, have a wonderful experience, and share Gods love. I can’t wait to see the pictures when the kids get back to school.

Thanks for the information. Our son will be visiting there for several months with one of the nationals. Are the Cargiles still serving there? Would love to have someone from the states currently serving there as a contact for him. Our son is a member of the Xtreme Team. Thanks, Rick

  19. What Is Mission?
The traditional understanding of mission is of professional persons, generally clerics and religious, who have dedicated their lives to the work of evangelization, spreading the Gospel of Jesus, at home or abroad, either to those who have not heard it or whose faith is weak for lack of ministers
As the People of God, we are all called to be missionaries, but not limited exclusively to the traditional form of missions.
The idea of mission today encompasses various activities, which fall into different categories, namely: the Traditional, Corporal Works of Mercy, and Immersion.

    Mr. Jackson:

I know that this is about a month late, but yes the Cargiles are still in Ecuador. They will be there until next Christmas I believe. Ecuador is an amazing place, I went there with the second team, Team Dos. I wish your son the best.

  22. Howdy! I understand this is kind of off-topic but I needed to ask.

Does running a well-established blog like yours require a massive amount work?

I’m completely new to running a blog however I do write in my diary every day.
I’d like to start a blog so I can easily share my
experience and views online. Please let me know if you have
any recommendations or tips for brand new aspiring bloggers.

    Thankyou!
