Day 7
WHERE DO WE BEGIN to write our final epistle from Quito, Ecuador?
We begin with thanksgiving to the Father for His divine providence to provide a Savior for us. Then we think of His calling to Faith Baptist Church, Wichita Falls, to partner with IMB missionaries, Brett & Brenda Cargile, to go on mission to Quito. Then we stand in amazement of the team He called to comprise TEAM ALPHA–we are just ordinary persons. And finally, we stand in awe of His display of power through the Holy Spirit of what we have experienced.
TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN READING of God’s work through this blog, do not be fooled to think this “just happened.” This was God’s response to the prayers of His people. When I heard the heart-cry of TEAM ALPHA in prayer at their first meeting, I knew we were in position to see God work! God has done amazing things here. Brett Cargile’s desire for TEAM ALPHA was to: 1) make an impact on the community where they would be receptive to the gospel and 2) to find at lest one home where he could begin a church. Today Brett said that not only has there been a positive relationship established, but there not just one, but there are 6 – 9 possible homes to begin churches! To God alone be the glory! Oh, about today, we had a great day shopping and going to the equator. But the real joy for us lies in the mountain community of Santos Pamba where lives have been stirred for the gospel. ..where we saw and experienced first hand GOD AT WORK!
TEAM ALPHA returns home different people than we were when we departed Wichita Falls seven days ago. We have been changed by the Master as we have seen Him work through us. Believe me, we are AMAZED! May you be amazed to as you submit yourself to Him. He could be calling you to join a team and come to Ecuador. Or, maybe He wants you to give so that others may follow us. Maybe your part is to pray. Remember, prayer is where this all began. And prayer is what will produce many more miracles for the Kingdom. How great is our God! Try Him!
