Thursday
What a day and what a week!! We spent most of today in the bus seeing most of north Quito. We visited a lake that was in the crater of a volcano and got to see Cotocopi and Cotopoxi because it was such a clear day. Both of the volcanoes had snow on them. We also went to a city that they call the Leather City because they sale leather products. The ladies had a good time there. However, the men did a pretty good job buying there too. We ate lunch in Otovola and then headed to the market!! We really had a good time looking all the hand made items that were for sale. Of course, we bought a few too. While shopping we were also giving brochures and cards with Bible scriptures. We are now at the Guest House trying to pack to head home tomorrow morning at 4:15pm.
What a blessing this week has been as we visited with the Nationals of this country.

We have had a fantastic week. My favorite part was from the arrival at the air port until now. The bus that met us had ,Avalino, Blanca, Luis, Anita, Bryon, David, and Guillermo on board as well as missionaries Brenda and Cindy. I enjoyed being with them and then we arrived at Camp Refugio where there were others that we were able to get to know and love. Then there was the trip up the worst city street I’ve ever been on to meet with Blanca, Byron, and David’s family. Then there was the visit to the Market and the church there and meeting Luis and Avalino’s family. Then the visit to the Carcelena church where we were able to see Ignacio, Mercedes, another Anita again, and meet their families. Yes, I did have a fantastic ice cream sundae in there somewhere and passed out the gospel of John and other tracts with the help of the missionaries, Brett and Brenda and Michael and Cindy as well as church leaders. Today was sight seeing and shopping and a great time with missionaries Brett and Michael. This evening we had a great dinner with them and their families.
God bless,
John & Rozan
By the time most of you read this, we will be on our way home. We will leave the hostal at 4:15am and depart Quito at 6:40am. It looks like we will be flying behind hurricane Ike. I would ask you alll to pray for safe uneventfull travel for us. Please also remember Brett Cargile and Michael Wallet (local missionaries) and their families. As we all are preparing we are trying to begin preparations for next year. See you soon – Mike L
